“Yoga: Uniting Body , Mind, and Spirit”From Asanas to Awareness - DPS Rourkela Celebrates International Day of Yoga - 2025

Delhi Public School, Rourkela celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2025 with great enthusiasm and spiritual energy. The event aimed to highlight the significance of yoga in promoting holistic health and well-being.The programme commenced with the welcome of the Principal, Mrs. Manisha Singh, and the esteemed yoga instructors from Sector 13 Patanjali Yoga Parivar, Rourkela, under the able guidance of I/c Mr. RathaHaripal. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp set a divine tone for the celebration. As a token of gratitude and respect, a sapling was presented to the yoga instructors, symbolising growth and harmony.

Mrs. Manisha Singh, Principal of DPS Rourkela, in her address, emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life. She stated, “A healthy body houses a peaceful mind; yoga is not just a practice but a way of life that leads us towards inner peace, discipline, and positivity.”This was followed by the Yoga Day Pledge, taken with utmost sincerity by all attendees, reaffirming their commitment to a balanced and mindful lifestyle.A Common Yoga Protocol session was then conducted by the yoga instructors, which included:

Warming-up exercises Warming-up exercises
Various Yoga Asanas
Pranayama (breathing techniques)
Meditation and relaxation practices.

Over 200 students, including NCC cadets, along with 15 yoga guide teachers, actively participated.

Yoga was performed with dedication and coordination by the enthusiastic students, Mrs. Manisha Singh (Principal), Headmaster ( Mr.Soumendra Kumar Nayak), NCC ANO, Physical Education Teacher, Art Teacher, and NCC PI Staff from the NCC Office.

A spectacular yoga performance by cadets Chhahat Prakash and Shreya Dubey captivated the audience with their balance, grace, and flexibility.The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all contributors and participants.This celebration was a perfect blend of mindfulness, discipline, and health awareness, echoing the essence of yoga as a unifying force in today’s fast-paced world.
